Career Story

High school gave me the opportunity to experience this career before taking the plunge and continuing my further education in this career.
As a Coop student I was able to work at Carol Baker Visage and get my feet wet a little bit. I wanted to figure out if I actually enjoyed doing services on others or if I just enjoyed it for myself.
I loved it!
After completing 4 years of collage, 2 years in Cosmetology and 2 years of Esthetics, I realised I really liked it.
I started working at a salon in Oakville. I started with the basics, Manicure, pedicure, standard brow wax. It was great. I learned so much from them.
After my second daughter, I couldn’t do those hours with small babies at home. I eventually took the plunge and started working from home. I went door to door handing out flyers in hopes that someone would actually come. They did!
I then reached a point that I could not take on any more customers. I was either going to stop all together or go one steep further. I went further and I’m so glad I did.
In November 2019 I opened The Fix @ 299.
We offer everything from lashes to tattoos.
Best decision I ever made.
