Judi Partridge

Former City Councillor, Director, Business owner Hamilton Municipal Government

Job Description

As a former municipal government City Councillor (think of Mayor of Waterdown/Flamborough) I dedicated 12 years representing the residents of Ward 15 (Waterdown/East Flamborough) as a passionate advocate. Community projects such as Waterdown Memorial Park Skating Loop, playground, paved walking path, basket ball court and playground are all legacy projects I am proud of. New businesses have brought jobs to strengthen our local economy. Part of my roll is to work with other levels of government to improve the lives of residents. In a nutshell, I am committed to Building Community Together.

Previously my career included owning a marketing/communication company which I created from scratch to employ 28 people. It also included prior employment in a large media corporation as a Director Community Government and Corporate Partnerships

Career Story

Throughout grade school and high school I attended Girl Guides learning the value of community volunteering. Volunteering during my youth also helped me build a network of people who would assist me throughout my career. Networking is the single most important thing a young person can do to build a strong foundation of contacts in your life.

After graduating I worked at a variety of administrative positions in finance, event planning, government elections, TV/Radio media, marketing and advertising. Marketing and media were the two paths I focused on taking many night time continuing education courses at Mohawk College, Canadian Advertising College at Ryerson (now Toronto Metropolitan University) all while working day jobs.

This led to a few two year stints working progressively up the ladder at marketing advertising agencies, radio stations. All this led to branching out on my own to start my own marketing advertising project management company which grew into a partnership resulting with a graphic arts company to provide more full service to clients.

Director Community Partnership and Corporate Relation Development with large media corporation 7 years

Director Government Relations for Refugee/Immigration Settlement organization 2 yrs

City Councillor, Municipal government of Hamilton 12 years

Currently President Board of Directors Healthy Youth Network
