Kaley Metler
Personal Trainer / Business owner KJ's Transformation FitnessJob Description
I am a personal trainer, fascial stretch therapist, run coach, and a sports nutrition coach. I love helping youth and women my age(45 and older) learn more about their bodies and how we can use movement for joy, food for nourishment, and give recommendations on sleep strategies. I love helping youth learn how to run properly so it does not seem that hard and to lift weights safely. I love to cook with youth and share some easy recipes my family and I enjoy. For my fascial stretch therapy this is a way to get your whole body feeling relaxed and less stiff from long hours sitting at a desk. I use a massage table and I stretch your whole body using my hands and you get to relax and enjoy the stretch. I will have the client do some deep breathing throughout the process.

Career Story
I graduated Duncan High School(very small town in Arizona, kind of like Carlisle) in 1996. My parents were ranchers and farmers. I went to Cochise Community College mainly because my boyfriend and my sister were going there. I received 7 scholarships(they pass those out more freely in the USA). Some for academics and basketball and rodeo. This was a 2 year degree for general studies and I had a wonderful time. I worked hard being a dual athlete for the most part but did not put in a lot of time riding my horse since there was a lot of other fun socializing to do. I can’t say I was a star athlete at either sport but I sure did enjoy the experience. I graduated there in 1998 and went on to get my university degree at New Mexico State University in Mathematics and also received a scholarship to be on the rodeo team. I worked as a server in a few restaurants the entire time I was in school. I graduated within 2 1/2 years which was a lot of hard work and I can’t say I enjoyed the math degree my last year as it was a bit over my head!! It did land me a great job as a field engineer in the oilfield working for an oilfield service company called Schlumberger. I traveled a fair bit with my job and did my training in Venezuela with engineers from all over the world. I really loved my job for the most part other than the all nighters and early wake ups from time to time. I met my Canadian husband as he was working for the same company. We had a long distance relationship and I ended up moving to Canada in Jan 2005. We got married a few months later in March 2005. I got my 1st job in Canada tutoring math and working at a restaurant in Oakville. At the restaurant I met some employees that worked for a water treatment company called Zenon(then GE now Veolia). I ended up chatting with a few of them and they suggested I apply for a job. I was so fortunate to get through the interview and get the job as I was to have more experience than I had but I was a very good problem solver, so I guess that is what helped me. I worked there until 2014 as a field engineer and a tech support rep. My husband and I had our 1st child in 2008 so that is when I slowed down my travel and field work and moved into the office. I found it very dry to sit at a desk as I have always liked to be active. I had lots of time to figure my next move which was to become a personal trainer part time and mostly be a mom. I am still doing that today. I really do love it.
