Councillor for Flamborough Waterdown (Ward 15) The citizens of Hamilton

Job Description

My job is to serve as a ‘caretaker’ for the Flamborough Waterdown Carlisle community at Hamilton City Council and within the community.
My role is to gather people together, connect with them by listening and then ACT in the best interests of our community.

Career Story

After high school I worked at International Harvester building farm equipment.
I quit my job to get involved in an American election and to advocate for an end to the war in Vietnam.
Spent a couple of summers working with International work camps before a third summer stint working in a United Nations refugee camp in Lebanon.
Studied at Mohawk College, mmcMaster Univeraity and Wilfred Laurier before being elected the youngest member of Hamilton City Council in 1977.
Owned and operated the original CHAPTERS bookstore in Waterdown and was elected and then re-elected Mayor of the Town of Waterdown.
In 2000 I was elected an MPP and served 18 years in office (several as a member of Cabinet).
In 2022 I was elected to serve the people of Flamborough Waterdown Carlisle as the Councillor for Ward 15.
My m Ii at important and rewarding work has been as a lifelong volunteer in my community.
